Amidco's engineering department with interdisciplinary approach furnishes the pre-project studies, process design packages, basic design and detail engineering services especially for oil and gas projects. For projects with basic design and detail engineering provided by third parties, Amoco's project managers are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of practice in plant engineering including review of the design as work progresses, and approval of the plans and specifications to ensure that the design and detailed engineering are in accordance with the contract and applicable codes and standards.

1. Basic Design: The prime responsibilities of this division are selection of process technology, providing the initial drawing & layouts, bulk materials estimation (MTO), list of equipment, overall scheduling, man hour forecast, control systems specifications, block diagrams and modularization of the plants.

2. Detail Engineering: Besides providing the pre-project studies, AMIDCO also provides the full range of detail engineering services. These services include the full spectrum of disciplines such as plant layout, models, piping design, piping, instrument diagrams development, preparation of all process and mechanical specifications for equipment, materials, and services, civil and structural, instrumentation and electrical designs.
